GET YOUR MAKE-UP RIGHT

Last weekend i really wanted to go to the zen garden high tea but somehow couldn't  go cause i had less cash...so i decided instead of feeling so bad and locking myself in ma room.....i went down to Sarit where the 2011 INTERNATIONAL HAIR ,HEALTH & BEAUTY EXPO courtesy of MISTY KENYA was being held!!

i had alot of fan and learnt  great things and the one that really got me was how to do your make perfect!!

Here are da steps:

BEFORE YOU START:
Always apply makeup to clean skin
Make sure you have all your appropriate makeup tools and products you need
Apply makeup in a well lighted area(i love using the natural light cause you get the amount correct)

 1 FOUNDATION:
Used to even your skin tone. select a foundation that matches with your skin tone, the best place to test is your cheekbone.if u cannot see it ...it should be correct.use a sponge to blend the foundation down and out your face,so if you have any dark spots, uneven skin tone or scars you can use the foundation to cover it up.

2 CONCEALER:
Used to hide blemishes, scars and pigmentation.they should be one or two shades lighter than your foundation.use your finger or a concealer brush, blend the concealer out evenly dubbing.you can also apply concealer to the eyelid if that area is dark.

3 POWDER:
Used to defy shine and to set in foundation.
after you apply the foundation and concealer, dust a light layer of powder over the face and eyelids. apply with a large ,full, round brush. pick up some of the powder on the full end of the brush, knock off the excess and brush it on using the same motion and direction as you did.

4 EYESHADOW:
The lightest colour is applied to the whole eyelid and to the edge of the eyebrow. the general rule is that the larger or more prominent the eyelid area is compared with the under-brow area, the darker or deeper the eyelid color can be: the smaller the eyelid area compared with the under-brow area, the brighter or lighter the eyelid color can be.remember light colors bring things forward and highlight, dark colors recede and add depth and shading.

5 EYELINER:
To define the eyes. position the brush, pencil or applicator as close to the lashline along the eyelid as possible.draw a line from the inner to outer corner using one stroke.keep the line as thin as possible and if a thicker line is desired, repeat the process either across the entire lashline or simply on the outer lid along lashes.

6 EYEBROW SHAPING:
Used to define eyebrows. its important to have nice tweezed eyebrows...use a color that matches the color of your brows rather than your hair color ....work with the brow pencil direction of the hair growth. use a light touch with the short quick motions, avoid temptation to exaggerate the shape of the brow

7 MASCARA:
Used  to lengthen ,separate or add volume. apply mascara to the upper lashes using long sweeping strokes, begin as close to the lash root as possible and brush up and out,if necessary use a tissue to wipe excess mascara off the brush before applying.

8 BLUSH:
Used to define the cheeks. using a blush brush, apply blush along the full line of the cheekbone brushing down and back towards the ear, always knock the excess powder out of the brush to avoid applying too much blush. do not apply blush to the temple area, chin.nose,or foerhead as this makes the skin to look uneven.

9 LIPSTICK AND LIP LINER:
A lip brush or lip pencil is an optional accessory. you can use a lip pencil to draw a definitive edge around the mouth to follow when applying lipstick, and a lip brush to control your application. if you want your lipstick to last, apply more of it and don't blot:blotting takes off several layers before you've even left the house

now go rock your make-up dolls!!
